LOCAL  RESCUE  ORGANIZATIONS

There are many animal rescue groups to be found in Connecticut.  Many of these organizations focus on one specific species of animal, which is why we have listed them in such a manner below.  Regardless of whether you are looking to relinquish a pet, place a stray animal or adopt a new pet, the organizations listed below are often extremely helpful.  If you are looking for a specific breed of cat or dog, we recommend that you also try doing an internet search for specific breed rescue groups. This can be done by going to any search engine and typing in the breed of choice, along with the word "rescue."  For example, you might try "Persian cat rescue" if you are interested in adopting or placing a Persian feline or "Golden Retriever rescue" if you are searching for a Golden.  Good luck!
