General Obedience Courses

Puppy Kindergarten
Start your puppy off right with this 7 week course emphasizing socialization and owner education.  Basic puppy rearing topics are addressed using positive reinforcement training techniques.

Basic, Intermediate & Advanced Obedience

You really can teach an old dog new tricks!  In our 7 week Basic Obedience course, dog owners are taught basic leadership skills.  Obedience exercises are taught using positive reinforcement techniques and targeting.  Exercises include sit, down, stay, stand, come and mild leash work.

After you've mastered the basics, move on to our Intermediate Obedience course, a 6 week course designed for owners and dogs who wish to continue working on manners or for those wishing to take the American Kennel Club's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test.  The CGC consists of 10 pass or fail exercises.   The team must pass all exercises to earn the CGC certification. (Prerequisite: Basic Obedience)

Once you've completed obedience at the intermediate level, enroll in our 6 week Advanced Obedience course where you begin to work on some of the more advanced phases of training.  Dogs and handlers work with more distraction and continue to strengthen the bond formed by working as a team. (Prerequisite: Intermediate Obedience)

Special Programs

Behavior Consultations
Private behavior consultations are available for owners of dogs with any type of behavior problem.  Owners will work with a consultant and (a veterinarian when necessary) to resolve problematic behavior using the most advanced behavior modification techniques available.  Private evaluations are available for both puppies and adult dogs that include, but are not limited to aggression screening, social adaptivity, sight sensitivity, sound sensitivity and tactile sensitivity.  This is a GREAT option when considering adopting a new pet or to better understand the pet you already own.
